Air Emissions: A Horizontal View of a Vertical Industry

This month's meeting was a general overview of the “Who?, What?, Where? Why? And How?” of the Air Emissions Industry. We will discuss what Stack Testing is, who does it, who needs it, why we do it, and how we get it done. It's as simple as “putting the probe in the stack.”

About the Presenter

Will Beckwith is a Project Engineer at Air Tox Environmental Company, Inc. Will started his career in the source testing field as an engineering student intern. During summer breaks, he scurried up smoke stacks, burned his hands on hot probes, and generally had a good time. Eventually, he became a real engineer in May 2013, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Now, Will designs, manages, and executes regulatory mandated and diagnostic test programs at a variety of sources. These sources include combustion gas turbines, internal combustion engines, steam boilers, trash burners, biomass burners, thermal oxidizers, incinerators, and more - and of various sizes.
